ROVnet – ROVOP SharePoint Intranet
ROVOP specialises in global robotics, their technological advancement and application. They provide a focused ROV service to customers in all markets and geographies from our operational hubs in Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. They have an unrivalled track record of reliability, and a technologically advanced fleet of subsea remotely operated vehicles.
The aim was to create a corporate intranet allowing users to easily navigate to the public and team areas but with a bespoke look and feel using ROVOP’s branding guidelines.
One of the common challenges we face across our client base is shaping the initial layout and design. Even though the client has a clear idea of what they want, it can be difficult to picture what the site might look like and to manage expectations, this always poses a significant challenge. As a company, we lend our experience and knowledge to our clients, and in this project specifically, we had to come up with an idea that incorporated the look and feel of the public site so that users have the same experience across both platforms.
In order to assist the client in making an informed decision on the design, Insiso developed a number of layout options which highlighted the brand and corporate identity. ROVOP stakeholders then selected the best fit.
ROVOP required an easy to use intranet framework for their users and content managers to maintain as a self-service platform. They also required content management training on the unique customisations and configurations Insiso had pre-defined for them. One of the best solutions we offer is constant communication and training support to our clients to ensure they get the most out of their new systems.
We initially presented ROVOP with multiple layouts and designs for the intranet system. After several discussions and tweaks, they decided to go with a design that suited their company needs the most.
The intranet platform created allows easy access for ROVOP staff and senior management to corporate documentation across all functions as well as offering an immersive collaboration space for project teams.
The effect of the project was very well received across the company, especially when it came to the intuitive nature of the design, the structure and overall aesthetics.
ROVOP employees, stakeholders and content managers also benefited from comprehensive on-site training conducted by our SharePoint team, which was well received.
We enjoyed the fact that we were able to utilise our advanced SharePoint components through our partnerships to accentuate the design and overall user experience. We were satisfied with our ability to align the corporate identity, look and feel with their current public website.
Our partnered company (Bindtuning) offers web parts and themes for SharePoint, which makes the process very seamless and saves a significant amount of time and money for both clients and us.
A typical SharePoint intranet project can take 3-4 months from initial design to build, however with the support of our partnership we were able to condense the delivery time to 6 weeks.
