Insiso Delivers Oceaneering Digital Asset Inspection System
Earlier this year, we completed a two-year project with a longstanding client, Oceaneering International, Inc. Oceaneering was looking for a better, more efficient way of collecting, analysing and managing inspection data, moving away from traditional and often inefficient paper-based systems. They required a fully digital solution to enable on-site inspectors to effectively capture and report on asset integrity findings and conditions.
We collaborated with key Oceaneering personnel to work on this long-term, bespoke design-and-build solution to ensure the software was flexible, simple, and intuitive.
We took Oceaneering’s objectives and developed a cloud-based digital asset inspection system, formally referred to as Inform InspectTM. The resulting solution provides the level of flexibility required for Oceaneering to categorise, standardise and refine inspection and reporting criteria with clear outputs that adhere to global industry standards.
Insiso used the latest offline data synchronisation technology and a blend of cloud services to collect both data and media to and from mobile devices. The device can also synchronise offline data capture and media to and from the central hub when connectivity is regained—resulting in complete data integrity.
Chris May, Asset Integrity Systems Director at Oceaneering said: “We previously worked with Insiso on smaller projects; however, Inform Inspect was a much larger undertaking. Insiso employees worked closely with us to produce this highly-effective solution and we were really impressed with their attention to detail and commitment to making it work, especially within the tight timeframes set.”
Due to the diverse methods used to carry out inspections, combined with the disconnected and often remote nature of inspection operations, it was a challenge to transfer the data in a connected state. Now finalised, Inform Inspect helps to standardise workflows across Oceaneering’s international customer base globally, breaking down these barriers and making workflow more productive.
Pilots of the software were conducted via field trials in the North Sea, Azerbaijan, and Brunei. The intuitive nature of the product design enabled technicians to take part in a short training session and immediately carry out inspections in the field.
We were delighted to learn that Oceaneering has already realised a 30 percent increase in end-to-end inspection productivity through its Inform Inspect solution.
